HR Business Partner - Parental leave cover

We are looking for a experienced Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) , on a maximum term  contract (up to 12 months) to partner and deliver key HR & ER daily operational support across the business unit. You will partner closely with leaders and teams to provide technical HR & ER advice and instruction, implement best people practices, manage end to end employee relations cases, lead investigations and drive change as the organisation moves through its next phase of transformation. The ideal candidate will have a strong HR generalist and/or partnering background, sound employee relations and excellent communication skills.

The successful applicant understands the period of engagement is on a maximum term basis, and dependent on the employee returning from parental leave.

Reporting into the Human Resources Director you will be responsible for;

  • Building strong relationships across all stakeholders within your portfolio
  • Provide sound and accurate advice, learning and coaching to internal stakeholders on matters across the entire employee life cycle including:
    • Performance management
    • Employee Relations including workplace investigations and management of complex employee matters
    • Change management
    • Engagement
    • Talent mapping and succession planning
    • Offboarding
  • Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders to identify, assess and implement operational solutions within scope of delegation to meet the needs of stakeholders and the organisation.
  • Connecting stakeholders to specialist resources within the People and Organisational Development function to improve outcomes.
  • Build knowledge and understanding of people related policies, processes and documentation.
  • Lead change and cultural alignment initiatives across operations and/or head office.
  • Contribute to strategic and operational planning, drawing together the HR and operational perspectives to improve outcomes.
  • In consultation with the Director HR, identify opportunities and make recommendations to enhance excellence across the organisation in relation to our people.

About you:

In addition to your passion for people we see you having;

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or related field.
  • At least five years’ experience in a HR generalist role managing complex employee relations matters.
  • Ability to coach others to build capability and confidence in managing people.
  • Sound understanding of employment legislation, industrial instruments and contemporary HR Practice.
  • Excellent relationship management, interpersonal, negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Excellent written skills with the ability to create understandable, accessible documentation.
  • Knowledge of the disability sector or other community service areas and/or worked in a not for profit highly desirable.
  • A strong commitment to customer service and ability to work collaboratively with different functions in head office.
  • Strong personal commitment to working in a for purpose organisation with a can-do attitude working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be able to provide up to date Covid vaccination certificate or applicable exemption.
